My 5 yr old says she likes it when people are mean to her, because then she can be mean in return. Is this a sign of a need for control, feeling bullied in the home? Low self esteem?
She isn’t a pacifist, but this feels too extreme!

Being Mean
I am 11, but I do know a thing or two about this kind of stuff.
Ask your daughter if she likes having friends over, most likely the responce is yes. And when she says yes, just tell her that if she wants to keep those friends and make even more friends… she is going to have to be nice to others. But I do not think there is ANYTHING to worry about. First of all when I was 5 I said stuff like this all the time. Just keep reminding her to be kind to others and they will be kind in return! after all this is a golden rule, isn’t it?
